Based on my knowledge of 20th and 19th century handwriting and spelling styles as taught in US schools, what follows is my “interpretation” of the three pages. I hope this helps.
Dr. W. P. McGuire
Have practiced medicine in[?] the Payne family a good deal for the last several months and have been their physician. Have attended Mifs [archaic spelling of Missus, current abbreviation Mrs.] Selia Payne as her physician up to eighteen months ago: that is have done so several times.
Question
Have you ever examined or have you ever been present at an ex [blank space here could be shortened version of examination] of Mrs. Selia Payne for the purpose of ascertaining her sexual condition.
(Witness claimed the priviledge of exemption from answering this question. Court ruled otherwise)
I examined Mrs. Selia Payne last March or Feby [probably short for February] a year ago. I found that in her development the masculine gender largely predominated & that the feminine characteristics were largely in the minority.
I regard her as what is described[?] by a great many writers in this country as a case of spurious hermaphroditism of the male type. ??
(p2) just like a hundred ?? [or more?] cases reported of spurious hermaphrydism [sic]. I regard her as more of a male than a female. She has very few female characteristics, but there are some. It is argued in Medical Science whether there is any such thing as bona fide hermaphrytidism [sic].
I stated to Mrs. Selia Payne the result of my examination. [Crossed-out text: The result of my examination convinced me that]
Quest. Did the result of your examination lead you to believe that Selia Payne was influenced by passions, inclinations & desires of a male or female.
Ans. a male, but I do not know that true(?) passions exist… I spoke(?)
So far as my anatomical
(p.3) ?? so predominated as to make it advisable in[?] ?? that she should change her clothes.
